"From Neurons to Neighborhoods"

Shonkoff, J. P., & Phillips, D. A. (2000). From Neurons to Neighborhoods: The Science of Early Childhood Development (Committee on Integrating the S, Ed.). National Academies Press.
"Critical Issues in Early Childhood Education"

Yelland, N. (2005). Critical Issues in Early Childhood Education. Open University Press.

  1. Natasha, this is my first time hearing about the book called "The Hundred Languages of Childre". I am curious to know what the book consists of. Have you ever read the book? If so, did you enjoy the read! I take it that he book is about how children communicate with others. Am I correct?

  2. I am currently reading that book for our next staff day! It is book that tells you about the different languages children speak not only foreign or english. It shows you how they interact using their body and express feeling through play and art. It is a wonderful read when you have time.

  3. Natasha, thank you for these book recommendations! I have not read any of these titles, but I'm very interested in taking a look at all three. I'm very curious to read about the various ways that children communicate, and consider language beyond just the spoken word.

    Thanks for sharing!
