My Family
Jennifer My Mom
She has always given me the support and love that I have needed. My mom has always made me feel special and accepted. She always walked me to school and gave me a kiss before I went in. After school, I would get a special snack and then i would work on my homework. My mom would check my homework and always ask me if i had a good day at school. Her famous question would be "What did you learn today nato?" I would sit in the kitchen after my homework was done and tell her all about my day. She would let me help her with dinner and that would be our time together.
Edward My Dad
When my dad was home on the weekends, me and my brother drove him crazy for attention. My dad woudl read to me and watch tv with me. All mu favorite shows. The best part about my dad is he would always tell me he loves me and that I am great. HE made me feel so special and so loved. He really built up my confidence to take on the world.
Lennox My Brother
My brother and me had a werid but loving relationship. We competing so much for our parents attention. I think our constant fighting is what gives us the ability to push ourselves to do our best. We have always supported each other and cheered each other on no matter what. We have a weird relationship but I would not trade hime for anyone. My brother is a great support system because he is always there to tell me the truth and make sure i do what is best for me.
My Uncle

When we first moved to North America from Guyana, my uncle took us in to live with him. He allowed my parents and us to stay with him until we had enough money to go out into our own place. He always helped me with my homework and took me out to the movies. He would always take me to the shopping malls and buy me little gifts when I did really good in school. He is a very caring uncle and he always showed me the fun side of life.
My Aunty Janet
She is amazing women and helped my parents so much when we came to US. She took care of us when my mom went to work and she made life so nice for us. My parents could not afford to give us everyhting, so she use to pretend to be Santa Claus during the holiday and wrap so many gifts for us. She made our fairy tales come true. Anythign we needed for school, my aunt would get them. She always made sure we were well prepared for the world ahead of us.
Family Photo 2011
I know without all the people in my family I would not have been so fortunate to have a happy life now. My parents are still around me and help me and my husband to take care of our son. My life is great and now I have the opportunity to further my education. Everyone gave me a positive outlook to the future and I thank them all for all their nurturing and guidance.

ReplyDeleteI think it's nice that a lot of our classmates were able to include both parents in their childhood webs. Nowadays, so many children are raised in single parent homes barely seeing or hearing from the other parent. It really shows how much has changed in so little time. On a more positive note, I really enjoyed your last picture. It's nice to see that you and the members of your Childhood Web are still close.
ReplyDeleteNatasha, it was wonderful reading about your childhood memories. With your photos and stories, you painted a great picture of your childhood. It's wonderful how loved you were/are and all the support you're receiving.
ReplyDeleteNatasha,
ReplyDeleteI had a great time reading about your family and what a loving relationship you all shared. The part about your uncle stood out to me because I have seen and learned that at the crucial times in life, the people who go out of the way and help are the people that will form great bonds with you and the gratitude you demonstrate is beautiful as well, not all people acknowledge this kind of supports! Great going...
