Touching Story about a Child :)

My story is very touching to me! Please be aware I will not use any names or actual information because I want to respect the child and her family. About eight years ago, I met a wonderful family looking for a place for their newly adopted daughter. She was about 18 months old and had this amazing smile. She had a hard life and was very abused. The whole point is they took her out of a unhealthy situation and gave her home full of love.

This little girl could not speak and did not socialize with any of the children. She was so lost and afraid, as if she had never been around anything but hatred. Her adoptive parents got her all the help she needed, therapist for speech, motor skills and cognitive difficulties. She did amazing once she became comfortable with the adults in her life. She blossom into an amazing child with all these ideas and thoughts. Her artwork was amazing, she just became the life the school. All the children loved to be with her and played with her inside and outside of school.

One day, her parents came to pick her up early because they were going away for the weekend to see some more family members. As they walked in the door, she yelled from across the room that is "my mommy and daddy". Her parent began to cry instantly because that was the first time she had ever said that. It was this amazing moment, everyone that witness it cried as well. You could not help but see the happiness in their eyes to know they had a daughter, who learn to love them as her parents.

The school, was very proud of her and her parents! It was a long and hard journey, but her parents stuck by her and never gave up on her. They wanted to give her all they could and now she is giving them the opportunity to see what their love has done for her!

  1. Hi Natasha.
What an amazing story. It is good to know someone took the child in as their own. This kind of love ensured the child she could be loved and not always abused. What an admirable family. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Natasha thank you for sharing this story! There are many good families for children like your little friend. I have come across many children who have beeen abused by their families or extended family members. These children do need parents that are willing to fight the battle for a turn around in the children's lives. I was once a foster parent and I enjoyed openin my home to abused children of my community. Due to my busy work schedule and education, I had to stop. If I ever have the chance again to foster children, I would surely do it again. I have also met some very amazing children who's lives have changed for the better just as your little friend. Thanks!
