My Supports

I LOVE ALL MY GADGETS

Two of my biggest supporters are my parents. My husband and I work full time while going to school online. My parents help us to take care of our 14 month old son Kaden. This a big help to is because my son is well taken care of and I did not have to find a babysitter. Not to mention my refuses to take any payment, she loves to have her grandson around. I can't forget my husband, he us always there to cheer me on and keep me headed on the right path. Without him, I would have definitely lost focus several times. I think we balances each other's support system. We take turns helping each other so we can achieve our future goals.

Another important support for me is technology. My cell phone, Samsung tablet, iPod and my computer are so important to my daily life. When I am without one I am lost. My school work is primarily completed while traveling to and from work do I need these things badly. I cannot even imagine not having at least one thing with me at all times. My computer allows me to complete my workload everyday because everything is computerized now. My iPod is use when the train is crowded and I cannot pull out my big tablet or my laptop. I write all my thoughts about assignments down and then email my self the information. My cell phone has all my contacts and all my info concerning schedules. I plug everything into my phone because it easily accessible and always at arms length. Without my phone I cannot call anyone if I need assistance because the world is filled with so much technology I don't bother to learn any one's number. That I think is pretty sad because the most desperate times can go unknown because you can't remember a number. Life without these supports if they had not existed would have been okay because I would have a bog black book with everything written down. but because I have become so accustom toy gadgets I literally cannot function without them.

I also have to include my post it notes. My desk at work is covered with them. When someone ask me to get something or prepare a document, I write a note and I paste it down on my desk. It is sort of my check list because by the end of the day all the notes need to be completed. I cannot imagine not have this supply because it is so helpful for me to remember what I need to do.

My son is the only one that makes me put all my gadgets down because when we play and go to park it is all about him with no distraction. You can say he makes me sane for most of day but especially on the weekends. Saturday and Sunday belong to only him and with him I feel like the most powerful person in the world. I support him and watchng hims grow lets me know I am doing a good job so far!

I am pretty lucky to lead a life where I do not have to need for anything. I have my parents, my husband, my son and the rest of my immediate family and most importantly my health. I think for a moment what if I was not so healthy. Would I be able to take care of myself, preform my duties at work, would I be able to or even be capable of relying on all these gadgets. I so many people around that have lost a body part and are unable to function everyday without a struggle. I take for granted how important my arms are and the fact that I need both of them to complete most functions. Would all these things in my life go so smoothly or would I be lost. I think at this point in time, knowing how frustrated I tend to get, I would be miserable for a while and even when I could do somethings for myself , I would still complain. To be without the support of my body, I think I would rely on my parents to help me do a lot and with the help of therapists to learn how to maneuver myself. Without out those people I think I would not have any self-confidence in myself.

  1. I could not make it without my technology either! Technology certainly makes life easier. Even with all the technology available, I still need my handwritten checklists to help me stay organized.

  2. As the mom of 10 month old I often think he helps me get more done, because I only have a limited time to work on tasks before he wants mamma again. I have typed more than a few papers with one hand while nursing him to sleep, lol. I dread returning to work soon and wonder how I will get everything done. I told my husband he's going to have to step up a bit or things will start to fall apart.

  3. Natasha,
I would also be lost without all of my gadgets: my cell phone, my laptop, and my iPad. I remember life without cell phones, without the internet, and being chained to a desktop computer. I would not want to go back to that because life is so much easier now. The idea of e-mailing yourself when you think of ideas for assignments is brilliant! I might have to borrow that.

  4. It is great that your parents are so willing and able to help you by watching your son. I hope that when I have children of my own my parents will want to spend as much time with them as they can and want to help me at the same time. Recognizing the importance of your health was a great point. Often times I take my health or my family's health for granted and have to remind myself that life could be a lot more difficult if we weren't so healthy.

  5. Natasha,
You have some pretty cool gadgets that you posted on your blog...:) I really like cell phones too. And I must say its great that you know how to work all this technology, sadly I'm not so tech friendly with most technology. Your parents sound like they are a good support system and want to see you and your husband succeed. So often it is so hard to go back to school when you have a family but you have them in your corner cheering you on which is great. You are right your health is a great deal and is always good to have.
